Once again, in an effort to keep the Giant Rock area pristine the BLM Barstow office suggested a Giant Rock Community Clean-Up to celebrate National Public Lands Day , in partnership with Karyl Newman and Blight Sites, the Mojave Desert Land Trust, the Landers Community Association High Desert Keepers and the Hi-Desert Nature Museum.
We will be working from 9 AM – Noon on Saturday, October 12th.
We will have water, the fantastic tool-trailer (through feel free to bring your own), safety and conservation information and complimentary NPLD t-shirts water and pizza for all volunteers!
The event is part of the programming for a California Humanities Grant received in December 2017, Our Giant Rock: a Community Touchstone in the Mojave.
The event includes stories and research by Karyl Newman.
Join us for #storiesandstewardship at Giant Rock. We hope to see you and all meet other volunteers that love their public lands.
