Blightsite app-mapped materials, left in the landscape around Giant Rock, transformed into scenery and costumes at the Hi-Desert Nature Museum Youth Theatre Camp in Yucca Valley, CA. Campers repurposed a blue tarp and mylar balloon into a backdrop and created a troll costume from abandoned fox racing chest armor – taking trash from a recent cleanup and creating a stage setting. Kids learned about waste out of place, blightsites, eco-scenography and screenprinting – applying I Heart Our Desert and Blightsites artwork onto their own shirts.
